'Spomenik Revolucije' by Dusan Džamonja in Podgarić

It went viral about a year ago, under various titles such as 25 abandoned yugoslavia monuments that look like they're from the future but I can't get over how much I love this image. It's been taken from the book 'Jan Kempemaers: Spomenik' and I really wish I could afford it. The decay makes it look weirdly beautiful, like a forgotten relic from an ancient civilisation.

The monument was designed by Dusan Džamonja in 1967. After a brief glance at some of his other work I started to realise that his design aesthetic is rather appealing to me, and then after reading a short biography I realised that he died in 2009 aged 80. I always find out about these people way too late.
